On 10 May 2024, Dr Jacek Brzozowski Governor of Podlasie visited Population Research Centre of the Medical University of Bialystok. The meeting was attended by Rector Professor Adam Krętowski and Rector-Elect Professor Marcin Moniuszko, MUB, Dr hab. Andrzej Eljaszewicz and the staff of the Population Research Centre.
Professor Karol Kamiński introduced the Centre's activities and presented the Białystok PLUS study. In turn, Dr hab. Andrzej Eljaszewicz outlined the principles of Centrum Futuri.
The meeting was a unique event during which key aspects related to the health and quality of life of the people in our region were discussed and provided an excellent opportunity to present initiatives and possibilities for cooperation between scientific institutions and local authorities for the benefit of the community.
The importance of research in the analysis and prevention of diseases was emphasised, which in turn is part of the drive to improve the health of the residents of our region. The presence of Podlasie Governor during this visit confirmed the importance of the Medical University of Bialystok and its initiatives for public health and the development of the region.
Centrum Futuri was built and equipped from the 'Centre for Innovative Research in Prevention of Civilisation Diseases and Personalised Medicine (CBI PLUS)' project, co-financed by ERDF funds, under the Regional Operational Programme of the Podlasie Voivodeship 2014-2020.
