Second-year Doctoral School student Anna Kurasz received the Young Investigator Award at the European Society of Cardiology Scientific Conference, Athens 25-27 April 2024.
The laureate presented the results of her paper entitled 'Air Quality and the Risk of Acute Atrial Fibrillation (EP-PARTICLES): A Nationwide Study in Poland' on methods for the prevention of environmental factors in the development of arrhythmias.
The paper received the highest recognition from the judges out of several hundred submitted to the conference. Also noteworthy was the paper by a second-year student at the Doctoral School, Michał Świeczkowski, 'Air Pollution as a Trigger for Ischemic Stroke - Analysis of 80 million Person-years of Follow-up (EP-PARTICLES study).' This paper was also shortlisted as a finalist.
The laureates work at the MUB/USK Department of Invasive Cardiology, Internal Medicine with CICU and Laboratory of Hemodynamics, headed by Prof. dr hab. Sławomir Dobrzycki.
