    Accreditation, Approval and Licensure of Institution and Program

    Medical University of Bialystok is supervised by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science and Higher Education, as well as accredited by the Polish Accreditation Committee.

    The Doctor of Medicine (MD) Programs offered by Medical University of Bialystok has been accredited, recognized and/or approved by many organizations around the world.

    • Accredited by the Ministry of Health and Higher Education of Poland.
    • Medical Degrees are recognized and accepted by European Union Nations, the most advanced European countries.
    • Listed with the World Health Organization.
    • Recognized by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), an entity of the United States.
    • Listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED) of the Foundation for the Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), an entity of the United States.
    • The National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (N.C.F.M.E.A.) and United States Department of Education has determined that Poland’s accreditation standards are comparable to those set by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) (the body which accredits medical schools in the United States and Canada).
    • Medical University of Bialystok has been approved for participation by the  US Department of Education to participate in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Programs to provide student loans to eligible students.
    • Medical University of Bialystok has been approved for U.S. Veteran Benefits.

    Military Leave

     

    If a student is called to military duty in the United States Armed Services, the student will be allowed to withdraw without academic or financial penalty. Once U.S. active duty in the Armed Services is completed, the student will be restored to the educational status the student had attained prior to being called to active duty without loss of academic credits earned, scholarships or grants awarded or tuition and other fees paid prior to the initiation of active duty.

     

    Federal Student Financial Aid Penalties for Drug Law Violations

    The United States  Higher Education Act  suspends aid eligibility for students who have been convicted under federal or state law of the sale or possession of drugs, if the offense occurred during a period of enrollment for which the student was receiving federal student aid (grants, loans, and/or work-study). If you have a conviction(s) for these offenses, call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) or go to the FAFSA on the Web  site, click on "Before Beginning A FAFSA" in the left column, then click on "Student Aid Eligibility Worksheet" to find out how this law applies to you.

    If you have lost federal student aid eligibility due to a drug conviction, you can regain eligibility if you pass two unannounced drug tests conducted by a drug rehabilitation program that complies with criteria established by the U.S. Department of Education

This list includes contact information for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. It should not be construed as informative of what agencies regulate the Medical University of Bialystok or in what  states in the United States or other  countries  the University  is licensed or required to be licensed.     • The transfer of credits is performed in accordance with the ECFMG guidelines on the basis of the following conditions:

       Matching number of credits;

       Corresponding form of the course (lecture/lab/seminar);

      Course content verification;

       Credits can only be transferred from an IMED-listed medical school;

       The courses for which credits are transferred must be completed within the appropriate time frame.

      The deadline for exemption requests is 7 days before each semester begins. The requests supported with any necessary supplementary documentation should be e-mailed to appropriate registrars or submitted at the Front Desk for processing.

      Each student receives a written Dean’s decision including relevant justification
