Place: Building B in Teaching Hospital, 14 Żurawia str., Bialystok. Locker-room is located in basement of a "new part" of the building, key is available in Nurses Point. 1./ The fundamentals of skilled interviewing; overview of the adult health history: chief complaint, history of present illness, past medical history, family history, social history, review of systems (CC, HPI, PMH, FHx, SHx, ROS)
2./ General symptoms, cardiovascular and respiratory symptoms.
3./ Gastrointestinal tract symptoms.
4./ Genitourinary, musculoskeletal and neurological symptoms.
5./ Introduction to physical examination (PE). General survey and examination of vital signs and skin.
6./ Examination of the head, ears, eyes, nose, throat (HEENT) and neck
7./ The cardiopulmonary examination
8./ The cardiopulmonary examination cont. & peripheral vascular system exam.
9./ The abdomen examination.
10./ The abdomen exam cont. & the genitourinary system examination.
11./ The musculoskeletal and neurologic examination – selected issues.
12./ Preparing written History and Physical Examination (H & P).
13./ Preparing written H&P cont. Individual work with patients.
14./ Basics of ECG.
15./ Final evaluation of the course.
Conditions for receiving credit of the classes
1. theoretical part- test -20 questions -health history, physical examination, differential diagnosis of symptoms and signs
2. practical –written health history ( including presentation of physical examination)
3. method of passing individual classes – oral (discussion during classes, observation of student work, assessment of activity during classes).

Evaluation on this course is based on class participation and a final test organized during the last day of the course. Students missing more than two classes have to retake them with the next group. |

Participation in all courses (classes, practical solving of clinical problems- participation and sending answers for questions in each presentation ). It is possible to have 1 justified absence on classes in semester (sick note or short dean’s leave no more than 7 days). More absences on classes requires taking up classes with another group. Absence on classes „Practical solving of clinical problems” requires taking up classes with another group or credit for the teacher.
