    Introductory courses and essential requirements

    Anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pathomorphology: the realization of learning outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills and competences from the previous years of studies.

    Course assumptions and objectives

    The student should acquire knowledge in the scope of: Orthopaedic examination with elements of neurological examination. Congenital and acquired defects of the osteoarticular system. Bone and joint inflammations. Tumours of locomotor system. Osteoporosis. Traumas of musculoskeletal system. Multi-organ injuries Orthopaedic supplies.

    Students should be able to: supply wounds, fractures and dislocations;

    apply basic orthopaedic techniques: plaster immobilization, skeleton lifts, suture placement; treat patients unconscious as a result of trauma; decide on differential diagnostic forms of injuries of the brain, thorax, abdominal cavity and motor organs; recognize and treat local surgical infections.

    Criteria for the assessment of the achieved learning outcomes and the form and conditions of obtaining credit for the course:

    Attendance at classes is a condition to get a credit.
