Infectious disease exams are conducted in a test format. Technical details in the Teaching Regulations.
Exam dates agreed with the starostas of the 4th year:
Basic exam - July 4, 2024, 10:00am, Lecture Hall of the University Clinical Hospital, Sklodowska str, 5th floor.
Make-up exam #1 - July 11, 2024
Make-up exam #2 - September 12, 2024
Further information, such as the start time of the exam and the allocation of groups to rooms, will be provided at a later date.
Regulations of the course
„Infectious Diseases”
4th year
Faculty of Medicine, English Division
Clinical classes are taking place in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Hepatology and Department of Infectious Diseases and Neuroinfections, in Medical University of Białystok, Żurawia Str., 14
- Course consists of:
- Clinical classes – 54 hrs
- Seminars –40 hrs
- Lectures –16 hrs
- Course details
- During the academic year each student has course in both Departments of Infectious Diseases.
- Punctuality and appropriate protective clothing are obligatory to attend classes.
- The presence in all classes is mandatory to get a credit in infectious diseases.
- In case of justified absence (sick leave, dean’s leave) student is obliged to complete clinical classes and/or seminars at the latest day of the training semester with the given lecturer/assistant.
- Unjustified absence causes failure of the infectious diseases course and all semester.
- Student can work out an uncompleted lectures and seminars with another group.
- The credit for the infectious diseases course in each semester is obtained after the completion of training confirmed in exercise book.
- Completed exercise book and credit book are a documents entitled to take the final exam.
- Completion of the course:
Completion of all lectures, classes and seminars as well as passing the exam is necessary to obtain final credit.
- Final exam take place in the summer semester.
- Three proposals for the final exam and three proposals for the 1st and 2nd retake exams will be presented by the heads of both clinics at least 6 weeks before the beginning of the summer session for students of English and Polish division. Leaders of both divisions should provide one date for the final exam and two dates for retake exams within one week of receiving these proposals. If they will not be provided within a week, the exams dates will be appointed by heads of both Departments out of the previous proposals.
- The final exam is scheduled in summer examination session, within one month after completion of the classes.
- First retake exam is scheduled in July or August.
- Second retake exam is scheduled in September, but not later than on the last day of the summer session.
- Exams dates will be posted on the website of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Hepatology.
- Form of exam - “best of five” multiple choice exam.
- Number of questions - 50.
- Maximal score – 50.
- Final grading
- unsatisfactory (fail) (2): 0-30
- satisfactory (3): 31-34
- fairly good (3,5): 35-38
- good (4): 39-42
- better than good (4,5): 43-46
- very good (5): 47-50
- Any comments or doubts about the questions must be reported during or immediately after the exam, but before the tests evaluation.
- Student has right to check their test in the presence of the head of the Department or designated person after the completion exams by all students of both Polish and English course.
- The results of the exams will be placed on the website of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Hepatology.
