    Lectures (5th year):

     

    1. Anesthesia. The scope of discipline. History of anesthesia. Preparing the patient to anesthesia. Anesthetic equipment.
    2. General Anesthesia. Drugs used for anesthesia. Intraoperative monitoring. Stages of general anesthesia.
    3. Regional and local anesthesia. Drugs. Indications and contraindications. Spinal anesthesia.
    4. Regional anesthesia part 2. Epidural anesthesia. Peripheral nerves blocks. Anesthesia for obstetrics.
    5. Shock. Pathophysiology and treatment.
    6. Fluids physiology. ABG disturbances. Fluids and blood derivatives as therapeutic agents.
    7. ABG physiology and disturbances
    8. ICU – organization of work. Indications for ICU admission and refusal. DNR procedures.
    9. Basics of transplantation. Brain death – definition, confirmation, protocols. Care after organs donor.
    10. The management of acute pain. Chronic pain syndromes – diagnosis and management.

    All lectures will be recorded and will appear on Blackboard Educational Platform according to the schedule – in the day of the lecture at 13.30 and will be available to watch till 23.59.
