    DEPARTMENT OF INVASIVE CARDIOLOGY

    Rules & Regulations

    for 4th year medical students

     

    Classes are held according to the schedule established by the Dean of the Medical Faculty of the Medical University of Bialystok and the curriculum approved by the Faculty Council.

     

    1. The student is obliged to comply with health and safety, fire and sanitary and epidemiological regulations. The above regulations are published on the Department's website.
    2. Classes at the Department include obligatory participation in exercises, seminars and lectures.
    3. Seminars at Depertment are held in a stationary form. Excused absences should be credited to the teacher attending assistant within 14 days from the end of the exercise block.
    4. Bags and other personal belongings should be left in the student cloakroom in the main hospital building.
    5. During all classes it is obligatory to change shoes and wear medical uniforms. During the classes, each Student should have a stethoscope and an identifier/badge containing the name and surname and the term 'student'.
    6. During all classes (exercises, seminars, lectures) mobile phones, notebooks, laptops and other electronic devices must absolutely be turned off.
    7. It is not allowed to take photographs and record presentations and lectures on other media, under risk of disciplinary consequences. The prohibition of photographing applies in particular to taking pictures of patients.
    8. The student is obliged to observe professional secrecy. Any documentation concerning the patient (in written or electronic form) kept and performed during classes must be devoid of personal data and other information enabling the patient's identification.
    9. During the classes, Students are not allowed to leave the Department without the knowledge and consent of the person conducting the classes.
    10. The student is obliged to participate in classes with the student group to which he was assigned at the beginning of the academic year.
    11. Presence at all classes is obligatory. The student is obliged to come to classes on time. Persons who are late may not be allowed to participate in the classes, which may mean unexcused absence.
    12. In the event of excused absence (sick leave, dean's leave) a relevant certificate must be provided to the person conducting the exercises within 7 days from the end of the sick leave period. Documents delivered after this date will not be honored.
    13. Three excused absences are allowed. Classes or seminars should be credited after agreeing with the assistant within 14 days from the end of the block or the end of the exemption period. The form of credit depends on the assistant. The student is obliged to catch up on his own. In the case of more than 3 excused absences, it is obligatory to make up the entire exercise block. Excused absences lasting more than 3 days may be individually considered by the Head of Department.
    14. The student has the right to access the written assignments within 2 weeks from the end of the classes.
    15. The student is informed orally about the results of his written work and the final grade directly from the assistant.
    16. The student has the right to consult the person conducting the exercises outside the hours of classes after making an appointment with the assistant
    17. The form and conditions of passing the block of classes - according to the information in the syllabus.
