- The rules are consistent with Regulations of full-time study at the Medical University of Białystok available at: https://www.umb.edu.pl/en/s,14440/Regulations_of_the_System_of_Providing_and_Improving_the_Quality_of_Education_at_the_Medical_University_of_Bialystok.
- Attending lectures, seminars, classes, and practical solving clinical problems is obligatory.
- Lectures take place in the tenth semester according to the schedule specified elsewhere.
- Missing 3 or more lectures results in the necessity of making up and passing the overall content at the time agreed on with the Chairman before taking final exams.
- Seminars take place in the 10th semester, they start at 8.30 AM and finish at 9.15 AM according to the schedule specified elsewhere.
- Classes take place in the 10th and 11th semester, they start at 10.00 AM and last up to 13.15 PM according to the schedule specified elsewhere.
- Seminars and classes are to take place in the Department of Psychiatry in Choroszcz, Brodowicza 1, otherwise you will be informed about the exact location.
- Practical solving clinical problems take place in the 11th semester, they start at 8.30 AM and finish at 9.15 AM according to the schedule specified elsewhere.
- Tutors are to supposed to be your guides into psychiatry, so do not hesitate to make use of their resources.
- Irrespective of the specialty you choose, you are going to deal with psychiatric problems much more often than you expect to, so make the best of the time you get.
- Using mobiles, pagers, cameras as well as other electronic equipment whatsoever during lectures, seminars, classes or exams is forbidden.
- Taking care of personal belongings is up to you yourselves - The Department of Psychiatry does not assume any responsibility for potential loss or damage
- Smoking indoors is forbidden.
- All absences may be excused on health grounds or by dean’s leave only.
- Retaking exams, seminars, classes, practical solving clinical problems, etc. in other departments during lectures, seminars, classes, or practical solving clinical problems in Psychiatric Department is not allowed.
- Missed seminars must be made up for and passed at the time agreed on with the lecturer.
- Missed classes must be made up for according to tutors’ instructions.
- Missing more than 20% of classes or 3 seminars excludes the possibility of taking final exams and results in failing the course.
- Classes may be proceeded by 5-item multiple-choice tests dealing with current and/or past subjects.
- Your engagement in classes is assessed throughout the course - results in daily tests. Completion of the course requires passing all of daily tests.
- The course in psychiatry ends with a practical exam and a final multiple-choice test, the former enabling the latter.
- At the practical exam you are to prove that you have acquired basic skills necessary for conducting psychiatric examination, formulating and justifying hypothetical diagnosis as well as eventual treatment – specified number of points is granted.
- Completion of the course requires passing the final multiple-choice test (at least 60% of the total score).
- Failing the final multiple-choice test requires taking the retake exam at the time agreed on with the Chairman.
- The final evaluation is determined by the result in the final multiple-choice test.
