The Medical University of Białystok has a next-generation sequencing platform and huge computational resources at its disposal. The CBI aims at making good use of it and proposes collaboration within the scope of the university. Genetics coupled with advanced data-analysis methods are the cornerstones for the development of individualised medicine which will optimise medical care pathways, inline with the MUB ambitions.

Microbial data analysis

With the advent of next-generation sequencing new approaches to study so far unculturable microorganisms have become available. However, the analysis of bulk sequence data remains computationally demanding and requires bioinformatic skills. We offer our assistance with microbial data analysis. We can help identify microbial taxa based on 16S rDNA gene fragments. If more advanced information (e.g. microbial metabolic functions) is needed, we perform the analysis of metagenomes and metatranscriptomes.
