The Canon Foundation in Europe has opened the intake for its prestigious research fellowships, offering up to 15 grants per year to outstanding researchers from Europe and Japan. The fellowships, which last from three months to a year, allow research in any field - Europeans in Japan and Japanese in Europe.

Fellows are free to choose their host institutions and applicants can come from a variety of sectors, including academia, industry and government. A minimum of a Master's or PhD degree earned within the last 10 years is required, with exceptions possible with the provision of additional documents.

The scholarship offers up to €30,000 per year, with no restrictions on expenses, covering living, travel and research costs, among others.

The deadline for applications is 15 September 2024, with research starting between January and December 2025. Priority is given to first-time travellers to Japan or Europe.

For more information and to apply, interested candidates can visit the official Canon Foundation website.
