The Medical University of Bialystok has concluded another bilateral agreement with Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute from Uzbekistan.
The agreement covers cooperation in various aspects, including the exchange of research staff, students and PhD students for joint research, training or doctoral theses. The scope of cooperation also includes the possibility of organising joint summer schools, preparing joint scientific publications or implementing joint projects.
Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute was founded in 1972 and is Uzbekistan's leading institute in paediatrics. In its 52 years of operation, the institute has trained more than 35,000 highly qualified doctors. The university offers three faculties: paediatrics, paediatrics and medical biology, and pedagogy and medicine. Each of its faculties is divided into several departments offering a variety of courses. The doctoral department offers two doctoral programmes for students wishing to continue their studies. The University also offers advanced training courses for medical personnel working in the public and private sectors. At the moment, the University of Uzbekistan has more than 40 international agreements with universities and institutions from countries such as Poland, the UK, Germany, Spain, Austria, India, South Korea and Ukraine.
