YEAR: 3
CLASS no: 7
Pathophysiology of the gastrointestinal system disorders part 2
(Disorders of hepatobiliary and exocrine pancreas function).
Goal: to explain etiology, pathogenesis and consequences of selected function
alterations of liver, hepatobiliary system and pancreas
Time: 4 hours
Didactic tools: multimedia presentation
Before the classes students should revise anatomy and physiology of liver, hepatobiliary system and pancreas, as well as tests of hepatobiliary function.
Problems:
Disorders of hepatic and biliary function (etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and complications)
- Liver failure: acute, chronic
- Portal Hypertension
- Cirrhosis
- Intrahepatic biliary disorders: primary biliary cirrhosis, secondary biliary cirrhosis
Alcoholic liver disease
- Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
- Hepatotoxic disorders: drug-induced (paracetamol poisoning)
Etiology, pathogenesis and clinical manifestations of:
- Cholestasis
- Jaundice
Disorders of the gallbladder (etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and complications)
- Cholelithiasis
- Cholecystitis: acute and chronic
- Choledocholithiasis
- Cholangitis
Disorders of the exocrine pancreas (etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and complications)
- Acute pancreatitis
- Chronic pancreatitis
