The Department of Pharmacognosy at MUB, as part of its international collaboration, is hosting MPharm. Lejsa Jakupović from the University of Zagreb (Croatia) for a one-month internship. This collaboration enables joint research on selected plant-based products.
Prof. Michał Tomczyk (Department of Pharmacognosy, MUB) has been working scientifically with Prof. Marijana Zovko-Končić (Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb) for several years. This cooperation has resulted in joint research and publications in leading pharmaceutical science journals. Prof. Zovko-Končić also visited Białystok for a lecture in 2019.
Recently, MPharm. Lejsa Jakupović arrived for a one-month internship at the Medical University of Bialystok. Under the supervision of Dr. Katarzyna Jakimiuk and Dr. Jakub Władysław Strawa, she will conduct research on the biological activity assessment and metabolomic analysis (LC-TOF-MS) of selected plant products.
The international collaboration between these institutions was initiated as part of a joint international project funded by the Croatian Science Foundation (EPP) under the title “Bioactive plant principles extraction using green solvents - a step towards green cosmeceuticals - COSMOGREEN” (IP-2018-01-6504), carried out between 2018 and 2024 (Project Leader: Prof. Dr. Marijana Zovko-Končić).
