List of the evaluation criteria. Scoring system and selection of candidates:
STAGE I: EVALUATION OF THE METHODOLOGICAL POTENTIAL AND CURRENT SCIENTIFIC ACHIEVEMENTS, BASED ON THE PRESENTED DOCUMENTS
1. Mean grade record from the previous course of study (in the case of two-cycle study programmes, it is the sum of the Bachelor course average + the Master’s course average, divided by 2)* (rounded to 2 decimal places)
* The committee will count the mean value according to the methodology presented here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grading_systems_by_country
2. Evaluation of the candidate’s methodological potential, based on letters of reference if any, or on different grounds. 0 - 10
3. Evaluation of the present scientific achievements:
a) Manuscripts published and/or accepted for publication, no IF
- when the first author: 2 per manuscript
- when a co-author: 1 per manuscript
b) Manuscripts published and/or accepted for publication 0 < IF < 1.00
- when the first author: 5 per manuscript
- when a co-author: 3 per manuscript
c) Manuscripts published and/or accepted for publication 1.00 ≤ IF < 3.00
- when the first author: 10 per manuscript
- when a co-author: 5 per manuscript
d) manuscripts published and/or accepted for publication 3.00 ≤ IF
- when the first author: 20 per manuscript
- when a co-author: 10 per manuscript
e) conference presentations (live or poster), as the first author or presenter:
- national: 0.5 per presentation
- international: 1 per presentation
The maximum total score for e) is 5 points
4. Study visit/internship at a research institute abroad (at least one month) 1 per month
6. Internship/course in English, related to the study area (maximum 2 points) 0.5 per course
The total score of <7 points for STAGE I disqualifies the candidate from being considered for the doctoral programme.
STAGE II: EVALUATION OF THE MOTIVATION, SCIENTIFIC POTENTIAL AND FLUENCY IN ENGLISH BASED ON THE INTERVIEW
1. Fluency in English, assessed at an interview with the candidate. 0 - 5
2. Determination of the candidate’s motivation and research potential, based on an interview 0 - 10
3. Evaluation of transferable skills, such as: communication skills, ability to interpret information and explaining skills, creativity, decisiveness, flexibility, learning ability, good work organisation, time management, cooperation skills. 0 - 5
A score of <6 points for motivation, <3 points for transferable skills, and <3 points for fluency in English at STAGE II disqualifies the candidate from further consideration for the doctoral programme.
