Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education was established in the Government of the Republic of Poland in May 2006. The Ministry is responsible for matters involving students, universities and researchers. It pursues the Government policy in the field of science and higher education in Poland. Experts prepare strategic solutions and manage the implementation of EU programmes and funds. The Ministry supports the development of Polish universities, research institutes and scientific institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The scientific community, through such agencies as the National Science Centre and the National Centre for Research and Development, participate in the decision-making process concerning the distribution of funds for science.
